10AM: PSU FARMERS MARKET

first things first, when it's summer it is time to hit the farmers' markets all over the city and surrounding areas.  one of the busiest and biggest markets is the psu farmers market. this bustling market resides smack dab in the middle of the psu campus and takes up the south park blocks with over 140 vendors that come and go throughout the seasons. on top of tasting the fresh produce and fresh baked goods are live cooking demonstrations, performances, and musicians. this market offers a little of something for everyone.

8P. MT. TABOR FOR THE GOLDEN HOUR

fun little saturday spent with our cousins. we ran to Pip's Original Doughnuts first thing to avoid the long lines, only to discover they had expanded their shop, actually more than doubled it. we each enjoyed a handmade chai tea and those amazing little doughnuts. we then walked through their street fair, which happened to be that same weekend. we drove to alberta street and walked around that neighborhood and wound up at the PSU Farmers Market and found all sorts of fresh fruit and vegetables, to my cousin's surprise -who never see fresh fruit in their home state of hawaii. after PSU Farmers Market we walked down to the waterfront and enjoyed the Red Bull Flugtag show and jumped into the willamette river to cool off. to end the night we got on the waiting list for pizza at Apizza Scholl's, while waiting we ran up the road to Tabor Mountain and caught some of the dwindling sun, it was a nice way to end the night.
